Million milestone
According to the Twitter account, over 1 million people have watched the film at theaters as of September 2, 2019. This is despite the fact many people disliked the movie when it first premiered last month.
About Dragon Quest: Your Story
Dragon Quest: Your Story marks the first time the Dragon Quest gaming series has been given a CG cinematic adaptation and it’s being undertaken by the same team that handled Stand by Me Doraemon.
The movie itself is based on the story of Dragon Quest V, which was originally released on the SNES in Japan back in 1992.

I played Dragon Quest V, a long long time ago but the story and characters are there. I really appreciated the efforts that provided excitement and fit well with the context of the story.
All the bits and pieces of what makes Dragon Quest are there, and if you have played the game I’m sure that you will recall the moments and emotions that will make you yearn for the world you know and love. Which is kind the whole point for Your Story in a nutshell.
This isn’t going to change your Dragon Quest experience but will only reignite it!
