Diablo III port took Blizzard nine months

Diablo III, Blizzard’s first Nintendo title in about fifteen years, went very well in terms of postage. This says Senior Producer Pete Stillwell during an interview with Kotaku.

According to Stillwell, the entire process to bring Diablo III to the Nintendo Switch took only nine months. The “conversion of the graphics” was the biggest challenge here.

The rapid transfer came partly because Blizzard had already brought the PC franchise to consoles before. However, Blizzard also received outside assistance. The company worked with Iron Galaxy, the studio that released Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch.

In addition, Nintendo offered help with problems that the team ran into.

Stillwell satisfied with Nintendo Switch

Without going any further than the Diablo port, I think this was a good exploration of the platform and our relationship with Nintendo, which we experienced as extremely positive, extremely healthy and proactive.

He emphasizes again that there is a good chance that other Blizzard games will appear on the Nintendo Switch.

Diablo III: Eternal Collection is coming to the Nintendo Switch this fall.
