WayForward unveiled their newest project which is based on the RWBY animated series. The company showcased the first trailer for RWBY: Arrowfell which now has a finalised title and is due to be released on multiple platforms in 2022.
Take a first look at RWBY: Arrowfell, coming in 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC from WayForward, Rooster Teeth, and Arc System Works! Play as all four members of Team RWBY in this side-scrolling action-adventure set in the world of RWBY! (Note: Footage is pre-alpha and not final.)
About RWBY: Arrowfell
As noted the RWBY: Arrowfell teaser is based on pre-alpha gameplay footage. It reveals the cast of RWBY: the Huntresses Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yian Xiao Long defeating enemies and traversing environments in an action-platformer style. Details from the announcement confirmed support for both local and online multiplayer. The teaser also included cutscene footage. The cutscenes and dialog alternated between 2D illustrations and CG rendered footage matching the style and presentation of the show itself. Rooster Teeth produced “broadcast-quality” animated cutscenes exclusively for the game.
The soundtrack to RWBY: Arrowfell will be composed by veteran composer, Dale North. Check out the trailer for the game down below and expect more details to come in the coming months.
